FlexVM allows to create templates from a Guest. Templates are created from regular Guests, executing on them a "convert" operation.

A template is a perfect copy special kind of a Guest. With flexVDI, clone creation is instant. This operation is the base of Volatile Desktops. The task that can be executed on a template are:

  • Clone
  • Copy
  • Convert a Template (into a Guest).

Using templates Templates provide the following benefits when you manage virtual machines:

In oder order to create a Template, open the menu from the Guest (remember it shouldn't be associated to any Pool), and select "Convert".

This means that the Guest has just been converted into a Template.
