Changing the Media

Just as it can happen with any physical machine, you may eventually need to change or extract a removable disk. flexVDI Dashboard supports this functionality, and allows you to extract/insert a removable device while the virtual machine is active. In order to do it, open the menu of the Guest where you want to insert/extract the device, and select "Change Media". Remember that the Guest must be up and running.

The following window will be displayed when you select this option:

In this window you'll see the different ISO images that have been configured in that Guest. Each file is stored in a Media Storage and can be deleted (with the "Eject" option) or changed (with the "Change" option).

If the user has added no file from a Media Storage to this Guest, the window will show a device called "ms-empty". It's an empty device created by flexVDI Manager in order to provide a unit where you can add files stored in a previously configured Media Storage.

In order to add a new file, select "Change" and a new drop-down menu will be displayed, where you will be able to choose the Media Storage that contains the ISO that you want to insert.

Select the Media Storage that contains the ISO image you want to add and then press Finish. You have just changed the removable disk (the ISO image) that will be seen by the Guest.
